May 2009 - Reviews of the 2010 Toyota Prius on www.allcarselectric.com were outstanding, revealing test drive results of above 70 mpg by 26 teams of journalists in the Napa Valley area. The challenge was to beat Prius chief enginer Akihiko Otsuka's test of 62.9 mpg in a 33 mile test loop.
Journalists raved about the acceleration, stability, and significantly improved ride. Interior design has also been modified with a more spacious and better equipped cabin area. The 2010 Prius is powered by a 1.8 liter gasoline engine with a 27kW nickel metal hydride battery pack.

April 27, 2009 - David Maus Toyota distributed tickets to the Advanced Screening of Disneynature's movie 'earth' last Wednesday night at the Altamonte Springs AMC theater with the donation of a school supply by local Central Florida residents. David Maus Toyota collected enough school supplies to fill an entire Prius, one of Toyota's hybrid vehicles.
As the presenting sponsors, David Maus Toyota and the Orlando Sentinel are utilizing this promotion to increase awareness of Earth Day through the Advanced Screening and donating a 'tree' to be planted at five different schools throughout Central Florida; as well as the importance of keeping a focus on our educational system through the school supply drive.
"We are proud to be a sponsor of this event; Disney has done an amazing job of telling this story. We are also taking this opportunity to bring awareness to the need of our school kids and Earth Day through the school supply drive and the donation of trees to five local schools," said David Maus, General Manager of David Maus Toyota.
The first film in the Disneynature series, earth, tells the remarkable story of three animal families and their amazing journey across the planet we all call home. earth combines rare action, unimaginable scale and impossible locations by capturing the most intimate moments of our planet's wildest and most elusive creatures. Directors Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield, the acclaimed creative team behind the Emmy Award®-winning "Planet Earth," combine forces again to bring this epic adventure to the big screen, beginning Earth Day 2009.
With the help of local radio DJ's, David Maus Toyota and Doc and Grace from K92FM have already donated two trees to Metro West Elementary. Another tree will be donated next week to Blue Lake Elementary School in Deland by David Maus Toyota and Leslye Gale of Magic 107.7 FM.
The presentation of the film also coincides with the launch of David Maus' new initiative, www.GreenMaus.org, a website dedicated to informing customers and bloggers about what the automotive industry is doing to revise their technology to be more environmentally safe, what the David Maus automotive dealerships do internally to make a difference and what you can do at home with your family to keep our planet clean for years to come.
"The GreenMaus initiative is one that we feel strongly about, most of our charitable focus is for children but without a clean and prosperous planet, our children will face a difficult future. We are doing our part to increase awareness and keep our consumers informed through this website," said Maus.

April 9, 2009 - J.D. Power and Associates reports Toyota earning five segment awards in the 2009 Vehicle Dependability Study for the Highlander, Prius, Sequoia, Solara, and Tundra, more than any other nameplate in 2009.
The study, which measure problems experienced by original owners of three-year-old vehicles, has been redesigned to include 202 different problem symptoms across all areas of the vehicle. Overall dependability is determined by the level of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100), with a lower score reflecting higher quality. The study is used extensively by vehicle manufacturers worldwide to help design and build better vehicles?which typically retain higher resale values?and by consumers to help them make more-informed choices for both new and used vehicles.
"It is important for us to know what customers think of our products. Toyota has always focused on quality and reliability," said David Maus, General Manager of David Maus Toyota.
According to David Sargent, Vice President of automotive research at J.D. Power and Associates, "Automakers have improved long-term dependability by an average of 10 percet each year since the inception of the study, which is a testament to the industry's commitment to continuously improve and sustain quality, especially long term quality."
The 2009 Vehicle Dependability Study is based on responses from more than 46,000 original owners of 2006 model-year vehicles.
