New to the Prius' color palette this year is Hypersonic Red. The hue complements the car's new exterior design and draws attention with its glossy look. On top of this new color, the 2016 Toyota Prius in Sanford now comes with a fresh interior that features form-hugging seats, a wrap-around dash design, a new color head-up display and a Smart-flow air conditioning system. It's also one of the first cars in Toyota's lineup to receive Toyota Safety Sense, a suite of safety technologies including pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, full-speed dynamic radar cruise control and automatic high beams.
The previously available 1.8L VVT-I engine has been carried over to the new model; however, it has been reengineered and can now reach a maximum thermal efficiency of 40 percent. In addition to the standard 2016 Toyota Prius in Sanford, the Prius Plug-in and Prius v also come outfitted with their own version of the 1.8L four-cylinder. The compact Prius c is equipped with a 1.5L four-cylinder and delivers an EPA-estimated 50 mpg combined.
