What is new for the 2019 Toyota 4Runner?

You can expect the 2019 Toyota 4Runner to feature minor upgrades from its predecessor. Some of the notable changes that have been made by the manufacturer include the introduction of the TRD Pro trim and the Nightshade Edition package.

There are minor changes that you can find in the 2019 Toyota 4Runner like the original Cavalry Blue color in the 2018 model being replaced by the Voodoo Blue color. Some other interior upgrades include the replacement of the Entune infotainment system with the premium JBL Audio system complimented with navigation and an App suite.

You get five trims for the 2019 Toyota 4Runner: TRD Pro, Limited Nightshade, Limited, TRD Off Road Premium, TRD Off Road, SR5, and SR5 Premium. All the models are available in 2WD and 4WD except for the TRD Off Road Premium, and the TRD Off Road trims that you get only on 4WD. The 2019 Toyota 4Runner is available in five trims although the TRD Pro trim is readily distinguishable from the other four.

The TRD Pro trim features a blacked-out grille that bears the manufacturer's block logo and TRD Pro badges that are accompanied by C-pillars. The manufacturer has ensured that the new 2019 Toyota 4Runner has new shock absorbers after replacing the Bilsteins that were in the 2018 model with the Fox 2.5-inch internal- bypass shocks. The Fox shocks allow the vehicle to achieve on-road ride and manage the large wheel motions when driving off-road.

Is the 4Runner Drivetrain Efficient?

2019 Toyota 4RunnerThis model is powered by a 4.0 L paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. The V6 has a 270 horsepower rating at 5,600 rpm, with 278 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,400 rpm. The 2019 model is expected to maintain the same fuel economy offered by its predecessor of 20 mpg on the highway and 17 mpg in the city. If you choose the four-wheel drive trims, expect the fuel economy to reduce by around one mpg for both in town and highway driving.
